  • My nail polish (professional manicure) is peeling after less than 24 hours. Poor manicurist or bad polish?

8 of 10 fingernails started peeling, but toes look fine. This is OPI polish, I brought in my own bottle. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary. Showered, a couple of dishes, and washing my hands a couple of times. My nail polish (professional manicure) is peeling after less than 24 hours. Poor manicurist or bad polish?
i have brought in my own polish before and this was from wal-mart. my nail color lasted about two weeks...they should redo it for free

the reason i say this is because OPI is a really good brand so your nails should last longer then a dayMy nail polish (professional manicure) is peeling after less than 24 hours. Poor manicurist or bad polish?
I would say go back to the manicurist and ask them to re-do it at no charge. For it to start peeling that quickly is just a really poor job and you paid for it, I would hope they would fix it free of charge otherwise I wouldn't go back there again.

If they used the same polish for your toes as they did for your fingernails, I would say possibly the toes stayed better because you use your toes a lot less for things such as the washing dishes and washing hands, etc. It does sound like bad nail polish but also just a bad job done, let them know about it ASAP and tell them you are unsatisfied with the job they did and you want it fixed free of charge or want your money back. They should be willing to comply.
Only a poor manicurist would have bad polish.

Definitely go back and get your money back or get them redone.
Go back. OPI is good stuff. They need to fix it.
If your not constantly washing dishes I think you should go back and have them do it again. Sounds like they either layered it on too thick or they didn't wait for each application of polish to dry b4 applying the next. And OPI polish is good polish.
Well I use OPI nail products and they are the best I have ever used! x x x
You should at least let the polish set for about an hour and a half.....so that it has time to complety dry. The more you wash your hands the sooner the polish will come off.
    probably both

    Professional looking nail polish?

I am leaving for a scientific conference this weekend and I was thinking of painting my nails. (Normally I can't do this because I'm a chemist and the chemicals I work with remove nail polish). What color would you recommend to look professional (I'm giving two talks)? What brands of polish do you find to be the most chip resistant?

    Thanks!Professional looking nail polish?
Neutral colors are professional. OPI is good quality, and I'd recommend getting some chip skip or any clear topcoat to protect your nails from chips.Professional looking nail polish?
OPI would be the best brand to buy. Now as far as the professional look I would suggest something Nude, Taupe, or a really light light shade of powder pink.
i don't use nail polish but i think that if i was a scientist that clear with the white thingy on top would look professional
    OPI is a great brand.

Its about $7 a bottle and comes in many shades
if i where you i would just paint them clear. but umm all solid colors are fine just no neon colors

When you get your eyebrows done (waxed/threaded), do you go to a professional or just a regular nail salon?

Like do you go to a regular nail salon or somewhere not professional but cheap, or do you go to a pro. and do you like the way your eyebrow is done. and also, how much do you get your eye brows done? When you get your eyebrows done (waxed/threaded), do you go to a professional or just a regular nail salon?
I go to a high end spa and let the pros do it for me. Its $20 which includes the tip, and that's a good price. I do not trust the nails/tanning/waxing places at all. When you get your eyebrows done (waxed/threaded), do you go to a professional or just a regular nail salon?
I only go to the pros. Sure, you have to pay a little extra, but it's worth it. I usually go about once a month to get my eyebrows waxed. It costs me $18 for a clean-up and $26 to get them shaped. Plus, the wax they use at a professional salon is so mush better for your skin and the environment versus the yellow wax at a nail place.
I have my eyebrows waxed every 6 weeks at an upscale salon (they offer hair, nails, makeup, waxing, and massage services). It costs $20 + tip and I LOVE the way they look. I would never trust a nail salon for a wax. You need someone who specializes in waxing to shape them right and not burn you.
It's part esthetics, part hair salon.

So I guess that does count as professional.

    I love the way it's done when it's threaded, it's 100% worth

    the pain.

I do my eyebrows every 3-6 weeks.
