  • How can some nail technicians got their professional nails license when they are not even speak English?

they do not need to speak English to take the test.... the 1st half of the test written and it comes in many languages and the second half is actually doing nails... and you are not allowed to speak during that..... but i do know how you feel when they talk and you have no clue what they are saying. How can some nail technicians got their professional nails license when they are not even speak English?
what language are you speaking? How can some nail technicians got their professional nails license when they are not even speak English?
They give the test in their own language. They have an interpeter.
You are not even speak English either!
The tests are given in many languages....the result of not having an ';official language';.

I say to them, ';Please speak English.'; If they do not...then no tip at all. Sorry, but the Great Melting Pot is for Melting....Either join us or go back home.
Does it really matter as long as they are proficient at their job.
Oh I hate it when they talk to each other and laugh, I feel like they're talking about me or something! Freaks me out :l
    huh?

What are nice, professional nail polish colours?

I will be starting a job as a jewellery sales girl soon, and it will be important to keep my nails looking nice (though it hasn't been specifically stated, I would assume so!)

I'm quite pale and I find either clear polish or a nude light pink works well for a professional, not too bold look... but I'd like a change of colour. Any suggestions? What are nice, professional nail polish colours?
I would look at your local Walgreens and look through the Sally Hansen, Maybellene and Revlon polishes, you might have to stay away from bright colors like red and purples.

You might get a professional manicure and see what a pale pink maybe sheer looks like on your nails.

Does your job have a dress code?

Have you noticed how the other sales girls have their nails? What are nice, professional nail polish colours?
A shinny white/silver is always flattering!

Are there any American owned and operated professional nail salons in SE Portland that are not too expensive?

I have nothing against Asian nail technicians, they are almost always polite, friendly and fair priced but I have always had difficulties getting the results I want from their nail services. Most of the time it is hard for us to understand each other and I come away dissatisfied. I am continuously looking for a better nail salon but it seems the only reasonably priced ones are run by Asians. I am just looking for a good quality wrapped nail that will cover my natural nail and make it stronger, not longer. Any help would be appreciated. No rude, unhelpful answers please. Are there any American owned and operated professional nail salons in SE Portland that are not too expensive?
hope you find one... try salon.comAre there any American owned and operated professional nail salons in SE Portland that are not too expensive?
Akasu is the only salon I ever go to anymore. They are amazing at everything. Nails are around $20. It's not in SE, it's actually right by the Rose Garden, but definitely the best place in town. Here's the website: www.akasusalon.com
if u want good quality and professional result then u have to pay for it. it doesnt come cheap

as u said the cheap ones r owned by Asians. isnt time u pay more to get what u want (satisfaction)?

How to go about becoming a professional nail technician?

Hiya I'm thinking of becoming a nail technician and found loads of courses in london, but i just need to know which one is the best and what to look out for. i would like to do the full works- manicure pedicure, gels, acrylics and fiberglass. Most of the courses i looked at only last a few days so i need to know if it's possible to learn all that in a week? Thank You!!!How to go about becoming a professional nail technician?
Becoming a nail technician is a great career to pursue. Women always love getting their nails done and you will have the satisfaction of turning their nails into works of art. Here are my tips and advice for becoming a nail professional.

    Go to school

In order to become a nail technician, you must gain the knowledge. Do some research and find a vocational school that offer courses and certificates specifically catered to becoming a nail technician. Once you find the right school, I would highly recommend applying for financial aid.

Go to the Federal Financial Aid website and fill out an application. This will help you pay for classes and learning materials. Also request an application for student grants and loans.

    Classes

If you would one day like to open up your own nail salon, it would also be a good idea to take a few business classes. Community colleges will offer a variety of business classes for a low price. You may also want to take a few accounting or math classes, to help you manage your money correctly. Knowledge is power!

    License

Once have completed your education, the next step is to get your license. Check your individual state's board of cosmetology licensing requirements to make sure you qualify. Be prepared to spend hours studying and performing various nail art patterns on fingernails and toes before trying to become a professional. Wile working towards obtaining your license, you may want to become an apprentice at an already established nail salon.

    Career

Once you have the knowledge and the license, you are now ready to work as a nail technician. I would suggest working at a nail salon that modern and up date on techniques. After successfully working as nail technician, you can branch off and open your own salon. Will need a loan and most likely a business license in order to do that. Once you have open you own salon, give other up and coming apprentices and nail technicians an opportunity, just like someone gave you one.
