Do you think black nail polish deducts from a professional image?

I've always been afriad to wear black in a professional office, but lately I have been seeing more and more in movies women wearing black nail polish.

What's your take?Do you think black nail polish deducts from a professional image?
I think that in daily life, black nail polish is acceptable. I personally wouldn't wear it in a buisness setting, but it depends on how formal the place is. I think if you were to be very professional do not wear nail polish at all unless it is clear. If you decide to wear black nail polish touch it up when it chips, because chipped nail polish is not professional.Do you think black nail polish deducts from a professional image?
black nail polish %26amp; professional image don't mesh, imo, a very dark red looks much more sophisticated.
I like it. People are becoming less edgy, and more willing to try different things. Go for it!!!
A professional appearance in the office is usually described with dress slacks, shirts and sometimes suit coats. In most professional jobs wearing black nail polish would not only be inappropriate, but could actually cause problems in your job. There are studies being done now about how a person's appearance can help them get the promotions at work. Black nail polish isn't going to give you a promotion so you should avoid it.
I think it's as ok aas any other colour really... Not a big deal my best friend wears it to work all the time and no one thinks he's unprofessional. But I suppose maybe your job is different, or you are in a more old-fashioned place. I don't know. I think as long as you maintain your nails well i.e. don't walk around with them all chipped and gross, you should not have a problem wearing nail varnish to work. Of any colour.
I don't really like black nail polish. I would only wear it for Halloween.
Yes, I think it does. It looks as if you are a rebel or who doesn't follow the rules.
I absolutely totally love the look of the dark nail polishes, especially black. Worn properly, it looks very professional. When it's all chippy and weird, then it looks kind of trendy and unprofessional. I like it and say wear it long, wear it proud!
i think it is maybe u can do that outside of the office try red for the office
i dont see any problem with wearing black nail polish at a work place, as long as your nails are short and filed nicely, also make sure to put a nice shiney top coat on the black polish...and as soon as it chips make sure to do some touchups so it doesnt look punkish.
black is a smart colour when it comes to clothes, so i don't see why it shouldn't be on your nails.

i think it looks great (:
depends what you wear it with.

it shouldn't but i can't say since i don't now wat ur job is.

if you don't have to wear very very professional clothes but maybe something like a nice skirt of top then it should be okay.

make sure when you paint them black it doesn't go out of lines or is lumpy, uneven cuz then it will give it a very ';i-don't-care-how-i-look'; look. also only wear black nail polish when you have short nails! long nails will make you look like you got ready for halloween a bit early!
